Important message from Sustainable Kingston:

Sustainable Kingston to Discontinue Residential Energy Assessments as of March 11, 2024

(Kingston, March 1, 2024) As a result of the cancelation of the Canada Greener Homes grant program, Sustainable Kingston will no longer be providing residential energy assessments for homeowners in Southeastern Ontario as of March 11, 2024.

Since engaging in an asset transfer agreement with Red Squirrel Conservation Services in 2021, Sustainable Kingston has conducted over 800 residential energy assessments leading to an estimated reduction of 245 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

“Unfortunately, the cancelation of the Canada Greener Homes program has led to a dramatic and rapid decline in the demand for this service,” explains Geoff Hendry, Chief Operating Officer of Sustainable Kingston. “However, our work in supporting the Better Homes Kingston program through energy coaching, the relaunch of our sustainably.eco program, and our many community engagement initiatives will continue unabated.”

Sustainable Kingston will remain a member of Green Communities Canada, a member-supported climate action organization and federally licensed EnerGuide Service Organization.

For existing customers who are looking to book a post-retrofit assessment, Sustainable Kingston will provide referral to qualified Residential Energy Advisors in our region and to answer any questions they might have.
