Kingston Community Credit Union (KCCU)

KCCU is a member-owned democratic financial cooperative (a credit union). KCCU was founded in 1957 as the Kingston Civic Employees Credit Union. By 1974 it merged with the Northern Electric and KGH credit unions and opened its bond to the community. KCCU has three branches and a fourth opening shortly at KGH with its head office is across from City Hall at 18 Market St in an 1841 heritage building. KCCU has been guided by the principles of sustainability and co-operation.It has a membership of 12,500 and assets of 130 Million. The members, Staff and Board are proud to be a Kingston Community Partner and to share in their city’s sustainable future.

Energy savings Partial deployment of LEDs; Motion activated washroom lights; Limits on air conditioning temperature; T8 fluorescents in kitchen; Eco-friendly Loans.

Reduce energy consumption through technology and practice; Eco Smart Car Loans reward borrowers for reduce their carbon footprint. Green Home Line encourages members to make energy efficient home improvements with a lower interest rate.

Waste Reduction All cans and cardboard are recycled; All confidential shredding is recycled; All envelopes, file folders are reused including scraps of paper instead of pads; Our main office is heated with a heat recovery ventilation system; We purchased recycled furniture where possible; Participate in Earth Day clean up (Pitch in Kingston).

Divert as much waste as possible through recycling and reuse.
